This week has been full and eventful: third trimester largeness and weariness, Aolani is 19 months and acting her age, bathroom transferring troubles (and solution!), first visit to a church in the area, first visit to Ricky's workplace (courthouse) today, and four stops for groceries (a supermarket, a farmer's market, a health food store, and a local farm). Oh, and lots of phone calls... lots. Yuck :( Meanwhile, Ricky is remembering how to cook, Aolani is in the process of going down to one nap a day, and our neighbors have started moving into their side of the duplex.
One huge benefit of Ricky's new job -- he gets to come home for lunch when he is in this county! We are only 10 minutes from the courthouse.
Another benefit for Ricky -- the court scenario provides a lot of drama, and Ricky loves drama!
Today: Ricky is wearing a suit and tie and pushing me while wearing my Sunday best. Meanwhile, Aolani is naked except for a diaper and tennis shoes cruising on my lap. Downtown. Stares? You betcha. Big blowout, and Mommy forgets the back-up outfit. Whoops!
Aolani has dropped her sippy cup one too many times and cracked the lid. So, I went to buy another one on Amazon and found a great "straw bottle," which thrills our straw-obsessed daughter. She now drinks water like a camel, hydrating more than I do, and peeing like a pregnant woman. Here she is when we first gave it to her:
We think it's funny how Aolani's first word was water (still is her favorite word, by far) because clouds are made of water! [Aolani means "heavenly cloud" in Hawai'ian.]
Verses to memorize this week: Romans 8:4-6 ~ in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
